Gastone was born for Elementaria 2025 as a reflection on display, understood not only as an exhibition medium but as a symbolic presence, capable of building a relationship between object, space, and the imagination. The project takes shape from the dialogue between nature and memory: on one side, the four-leaf clover, an organic and auspicious figure; on the other, the quatrefoil window, an architectural symbol embedded in history. From this dual matrix, a totemic, transparent, and layered installation takes shape, developed with Gevacril and Plasting and prototyped by Laser Time with Clean Sky PMMA tubes.

An ancient sign that returns to form

Gastone interprets the quatrefoil as a generative matrix. The reference to the four-leaf clover introduces a natural, vital, almost propitiatory dimension; the reference to the quatrefoil windows, on the other hand, evokes an architectural memory that belongs to the history of built space. The project works precisely on this threshold: it does not copy a symbol, but translates it into a three-dimensional organism capable of conveying familiarity and surprise. The final form thus takes on the character of a small, contemporary totem, recognizable but not didactic.

Transparency, depth, perception

The use of PMMA Clean Sky transforms the display into a light, almost atmospheric presence. Transparency does not erase form, but makes it changeable, layered, dependent on light and perspective. Gastone thus presents itself as a body that changes as one passes through it visually: the profiles add up, the edges thicken, the color creates depth. In this way, the display ceases to be a simple container and becomes a perceptive device, capable of engaging the gaze and highlighting the relationship between full and empty.

The display as a narrative presence

For Elementaria 2025, dedicated to the theme A.I.D.A. – Artificial Intelligence Display Art, Gastone proposes an exhibition concept that combines technology, matter, and imagination. It is not a neutral support, but an element that builds identity around its surroundings. Its totemic nature allows it to autonomously inhabit the space, while its symbolic origins connect it to a broader narrative, in which design, memory, and research on materials converge. The project thus confirms how even a display can become a spatial work, a narrative sign, and a tool for perception.

Strategy

The project's strategy consists of removing the display from its purely technical function to transform it into an element capable of building attention, identity, and narrative. In an exhibition context dedicated to the relationship between artificial intelligence, art, and display, Gastone functions as a visual threshold: its archetypal form captivates, inviting close observation, and transforming the act of exhibiting into a small perceptual experience. The choice to begin with a natural symbol and a historicized architectural memory also allows the project to be rooted in a shared imagination, avoiding the effect of a merely technological or self-referential object.

Design

Gastone's design stems from the three-dimensional translation of the quadrilobe into a composition of curved, transparent elements that create a totemic volume, open and traversable by the eye. The Clean Sky PMMA tubes allow for the development of density, reflections, and overlapping, generating a form that changes depending on the light and the vantage point. The project does not seek a heavy monumentality, but rather a subtle presence, composed of layers and geometric precision. The overall effect strikes a balance between constructive rigor, visual lightness, and the atmospheric quality of the material.

Results

The result is an installation that successfully combines symbolic value, formal clarity, and material research. Gastone presents itself as a self-contained, recognizable display capable of engaging with both the space and its visitors, without imposing itself in a didactic manner. The transparency of the material amplifies the perception of depth and makes the project sensitive to lighting conditions and human movement. At the same time, the collaboration with Gevacril, Plasting, and Laser Time demonstrates the possibility of transforming a conceptual vision into a concrete, precise, and communicatively effective prototype.
