Metrica

Vanità living | 2026
Rectangular Metrica mirror with luminous slats and mirrored surface installed above console in luxury suite with freestanding tub and urban night view.

Metrica is born from a primary condition: the relationship between light and shadow.
Not as an optical phenomenon, but as a principle of space construction.
The mirror becomes the place where this relationship manifests itself, is measured, and takes shape.
Even before being a functional object, Metrica is a furnishing element capable of activating space,
introducing a presence that does not impose itself, but is recognized over time.

Every space takes shape through an original tension: between what it reflects and what it absorbs.

Metrica is based on this archetypal condition. The lucid restores the world, multiplies it, makes it unstable. The opaque retains it, measures it, gives it a limit.

It's not a contrast, but a balance. A primary gesture that belongs to the material and the light even before the project.

From this tension the grid is born.

Not as a sign, but as a device.
A structure that orders, that introduces rhythm, that makes the relationship between the parts legible.

The surface is not continuous, but articulated.
Each portion participates in a system in which light does not diffuse randomly,
but according to a specific measure.

Metrics doesn't draw a shape:
it constructs a condition.

Light, in Metrics, is not immediate.

It activates slowly, from the bottom up, like an emerging phenomenon.

In this time, a gesture is constructed: the lighting becomes a passage, a threshold.

It is not the mirror that reveals itself, but the light that takes shape, which transforms the surface into presence.

It is in this process that a relationship is established: between the user and the object, between the gesture and the space.

A small daily ritual, in which light serves not only to see, but to recognize where you are.

Un segno che misura lo spazio. Verticalità e controllo.

Strategy

Archetype — light/shadow, reflection/absorption
Metrica arises from a primary duality: not a simple formal opposition, but a perceptual condition.
The reflective surface reflects the image, while the opaque structure retains it. Light is not decoration, but a device: it emerges from the slats, measures itself against the shadow, and builds a threshold between what appears and what is perceived.

Measure — order without simplification
The project focuses on precision. Each element is calibrated to generate a controlled, never rigid, rhythm.
The repetition of the slats introduces an order that does not reduce complexity, but makes it legible. Measure becomes a design tool: not to limit, but to give structure to light and reflection.

Relationship — activating gestures, not just functions
Metrica isn't just a mirror.
It's conceived as an element that interacts with space and the body: it accompanies movement, suggests a position, and creates an interaction.
It's not just an object for use: it's a device that activates behaviors.

Design

Metrica Rectangular — 1450 × 800 × 50 mm
Metrica Round — Ø 800 mm

The project is divided into two essential geometries, both built on a logic of balance between full and empty spaces, light and reflection.

The structure is defined by a matte aluminum frame, which accommodates two complementary conditions:
on one side, the reflective surface, on the other, a system of slats that integrates the lig

The slats are not a graphic design, but extruded three-dimensional elements, with a real depth that modulates the light emission.
The Glow Wave system doesn't simply illuminate the light: it originates in the lower part, distributes along the grid, and stabilizes in a uniform and controlled presence.

The result is a diffused, glare-free light that maintains a material and architectural quality.
When turned off, the technology disappears, revealing a continuous, perfectly reflective surface.

Results

Metrica introduces a silent yet decisive presence into the space.
It doesn't impose a mark, but rather creates a balance.

Light is used not to emphasize, but to define.
Through the rhythm of the slats and the continuity of the reflective surface, the project establishes a subtle threshold between the visible and the perceptible, between function and atmosphere.

Whether used in residential or contract settings, Metrica does more than simply illuminate:
it organizes space, clarifies its hierarchies, and accompanies daily gestures with controlled and measured quality.

The value of the project lies in the relationship it fosters.
A discreet yet constant relationship, capable of transforming a functional element into an architectural presence.
