Vanità&Casa Collection Book 2021

Design: Massimo Farinatti, Susanna Vallebona

Vanità & Casa, a bathroom furniture mirror manufacturer founded in 2011, needed a new positioning: not just a simple "graphic design," but a system capable of making its offerings legible and the brand instantly recognizable. The 2021 Collection Book was created as an operational tool for professionals and retailers: a streamlined editorial project, built on rigorous hierarchies and intuitive navigation.

A simplification process guided the catalog's interpretation: I defined a key to understanding the catalog based on typological families, designed a symbology dedicated to its distinctive features, and established a coherent bilingual (IT/EN) layout, capable of maintaining rhythm, clarity, and continuity throughout the entire document.

The opening of each family is punctuated by a narrative device: the reflection of the architecture designed by elasticofarm (Stefano Pujatti). The circular shape—a discreet echo of the mirror—transforms the opening into a threshold: not decoration, but meaning. Even the cover, with its silver foil and stylized conceptual mirrors, summarizes the positioning: understated innovation, precision, and design culture.

Strategy

Transforming the catalog from a "showcase" to an operational tool for professionals and retailers: quick consultation, more informed decisions, less friction.

Building a recognizable positioning: not a new graphic design, but an editorial grammar capable of making the brand immediately identifiable.

Define a typological reading key (families) to organize the offering and reduce ambiguity between products, variants, and technologies.

Introduce a plus symbol to highlight distinctive content without weighing down the layout, maintaining sobriety and precision.

Establish a consistent and stable bilingual IT/EN structure, designed to maintain rhythm and clarity throughout the document.

Design

Design a system of hierarchies (titles, subtitles, diagrams, captions) and a consistent grid for intuitive reading, page after page.

Design repeatable templates for product families and sheets, so that the catalog functions like an atlas: same language, comparable information, immediate orientation.

Create a dedicated iconographic apparatus (pictograms/indicators) integrated into the page with measure, as signage rather than decoration.

Using the section incipit as a narrative device: the reflection of the architecture of elasticofarm (Stefano Pujatti) within a circular shape—a discreet echo of the mirror—which introduces meaning and context.

Summarizing the positioning on the cover: silver foil and stylized “conceptual mirrors” as a sign of understated innovation and design culture.

Results

A clearer and more searchable catalog, designed to guide your choice: the offerings are legible, organized, and comparable.

A more recognizable brand: the editorial system creates continuity between collections and strengthens the perception of precision and reliability.

A scalable graphic language: grid, templates and symbology form a replicable platform for future editions and new content.

A consistent IT/EN system, which maintains typographic rhythm and information quality without compromise between the two languages.

An editorial object that, without emphasis, constructs meaning: the catalogue does not only “show”, but orients.
